We're presently a couple of weeks away from breaking up for Christmas now and students eventually then hand in final work w/c 4th January on this 'live' project for clients at the National Archives. Here's a few selected examples of ongoing student work approaching their final prototype stages.
HOPE WHITEHOUSE
Tutor Andy: I've fed back specifics on these already Hope to you but just to say that these are great. Really great character development, effective activities and good, simple layouts using a clear column grid. the fact that you've also done some user testing of ideas and spoken to a primary school teacher about these ideas raises it all a notch again - great progress.
FLORENTINA MANOLE
Tutor Andy: Lovely illustrated layouts here Florentina, I can really see where these pages might go as you finalise things further.. Well thought through, excellent character development and I can see the basics of a column grid layout used here too. Do make sure that you use the supplied logo formats in the 'key files' folder.
BETH MORGAN
Tutor Andy: One of your strengths is your character development here Beth - some lovely imagery developed and you're now experimenting with possible layouts too.. Be a little careful of busy imagery behind wording as this can affect legibility. Do make sure that you use the supplied logo formats in the 'key files' folder.
BRENNER DICKINSON
ROSIE MULLENDER
Tutor Andy: These are really coming along Rosie! Great character development - like the idea that they're talking to the child too. The activity idas are great - liking the stylised illustrations of aircraft etc. One are you'll need to keep tabs on though is how these are all adhering to a column and grid layout.. Is it a 3 column layout you're working to here? Do make sure that you use the supplied logo formats in the 'key files' folder.
CALLUM SUMMERFIELD
Tutor Andy: Callum this shows HUGE potential! A great art style used with a wonderful character style too. Great rat characters and I like the rough 'stuck on' style of the activities on the fence. You've thought long and hard about columns ahd grids on your blog too - good work.
